Infrared Sauna Heater - Room Sizing

Step#1 - Calculate your room volume. The number of Infrared sauna heaters, being the heart of the sauna, must be the correct wattage to be efficient and to meet electrical codes. To determine the number of heater you require, first calculate the room volume.

Example:

A sauna room measuring 4 ft X 4ft X 6.5 ft high, equals 104 cubic feet.

Note: It is important to keep your room size small when building and infrared sauna. Keep ceiling height to a maximum of 6 1/2 feet. For larger Saunas you should use a Hybrid combination of an electric sauna rock heater and Infrared saunas panels.

Step#2 - Multiply the room size by 15.

Step#3 - This will be the number of Watts of infrared heaters you require. To calculate the number of panels required divide this number by 300 (300Watt/panel).

Note: Round up to give better performance.

Example:

  1. 4 ft x 4 ft x 6.5 ft = 104 cubic feet
  2. Multiply by 15 (104 x 15) = 1560
  3. 1560/300 = 5.2 or 6 panels
